Overview
Y Ty village is about 70km far from Lao Cai province, a highland village closed to the Vietnamese-Chinese border. At the height of 2 000 meters, the back against Nhu Co San whose top is at 2.600 meters high, Y Ty hardly is shined by sun all the day. Therefore, they call Y Ty “land of fog”. Y Ty is where almost Ha Nhi people live, once be at this land, you can see the small houses likened huge mushrooms in the cloudy world. Due to extreme weather in here, Ha Nhi people have to build the house with special structure using soil and clay to make the wall with the thickness of 40 – 50 centimeters. There’s only one opened door so it makes it warm in winter and cool and fresh in summer. Ha Nhi is the less population in Vietnam, Y Ty is the most extreme land, however, it makes this place be unique & wonderful land for tourists.
Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai – Y Ty (Lunch/Dinner)
06h00: Bus & tour guide pick you up at hotel. Transfer to Lao Cai province via the longest high way in Vietnam, Noi Bai – Lao Cai high way (~245km). On the way, you can enjoy the majestic scenery of green fields and huge mountain.
11h30: Arrival in Lao Cai. Have lunch at restaurant. Take a short break then continue to Y Ty village.
14h00: Arrival in Lung Po junction – where the Red River starts to flow into Vietnam. Here is the first point of Red River, this side is Vietnam and the other is Chinese. Take photos then continue to Y Ty village.
16h30: Get in Y Ty, check-in hostel. The tour guide leads you to visit Lao Chai village. Freely discover the daily of people in here until dinner.
18h00: Dinner at restaurant with local specialties. Overnight in hostel.
Day 2: Y Ty – Muong Hum – Sapa (Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Get up early in morning to see the cloudy scene. Join in special market of local people on every Saturday.
07h00: Breakfast with hot dishes
08h00: Check out hostel. Drive you to Muong Hum – the most famous destination of Western North of Vietnam. On the way to Muong Hum, crossing the forest and fields, you can enjoy sightseeing.
09h30: Arrival in Muong Hum. Freely discover and take photos of Nam Ho hydroelectric dams, Den Sang stream. Then drive you back to Lao Cai.
12h00: Have lunch at restaurant. Continue to Sapa town.
14h00: Arrival in Sapa town. Check-in hotel. Then tour guide will lead you to Ham Rong Mountain, visit orchid garden, European flower garden…
18h30: Have lunch at restaurant with local specialties. Free at night in Sapa.
Day 3: Cat Cat – Sapa – Hanoi (Breakfast/ Lunch)
07h00: Breakfast at hotel.
08h00: Visit Cat Cat village- the traditional profession of Mong people. Visit Muong Hoa stream, Tien Sa waterfall … take photos of terrace fields, learn about daily life of ethnic minority. Free shopping at market.
11h00: Check out hotel. Have lunch at restaurant.
13h00: Transfer back to Hanoi.
18h00: Arrival in Hanoi. Drop off at the appointment. Tour ends.
